Royal Albert Hall

An interesting and challenging project with our fantastic long term client The Royal Albert Hall!

At Setpoint22 we are very proud to have catered for all the air conditioning needs and requirements of the Royal Albert Hall for the past 12 years. With regular monthly maintenance visits, we ensure the air conditioning systems are fully operational with any issues highlighted in a timely manner and rectified as a matter of urgency. With this in mind we were asked to remove and install a new system in the contactor room as the original system had come to the end of its working life.

The contactor room is located in the roof of the building under the glass dome which turned this straightforward job into a more in-depth installation. With the pipe work running along some of the main beams off catwalk, we couldn’t access this area as it was directly above the main ceiling of the hall. Following an onsite meeting with Royal Albert Hall’s Building Services Manager it was decided that we would work closely with the site riggers to access the area and install the new pipe work.

Whilst our engineers decommissioned the old system and removed the condenser and fan coil unit, the riggers used various rope systems and harnesses to access the pipe work off catwalk, and under supervision and instruction from our engineers they removed the old interconnecting services installing the new pipe work and cabling ready for the new system.

We are pleased to say this was a fantastic collaborative effort between Setpoint22 and The Royal Albert Hall teams to complete this tricky project on time and without any issues. The system was installed, commissioned and tested to the manufacturers specifications and is working well with minimal disruption to the busy schedule of The Royal Albert Hall.
